Much of my work and thinking is informed by healing stories and metaphors from world folklore and mythologies because they speak directly to our unconscious mind. They point to timeless truths that can help us orient ourselves in complex modern times.
Background
With over 20 years experience offering therapeutic support to adults in private practice, and decades of working with teenagers experiencing emotional challenges in secondary schools, life has brought me into contact with a huge range of people, professions and age groups, and I really appreciate the richness of that.
My school-based work has taken me to inner-city, multi-cultural London and Bristol, so I am alive to of the pressures and richness of urban life. At the same time, I am a lover of nature so have always commuted from deep countryside where I also feel at home.
I am now lucky enough to live and work in Devon with the rivers, sea and the moor to enjoy. I love walking, kayaking and wild swimming and just pottering at home with family and friends.
My approach to life and my work, incorporates a holistic regard for the mental, physical and spiritual aspects of experience. I have a committed practice in both spiritual enquiry and qigong and bring a wide awareness of faiths from around the world to my appreciation of life and the human spirit.
